**Ok so this tincture is quite a controversial one with many claims being made online by sellers with little to no evidence of its proven use as a topical pain reliever.**
What IS true is that one of the active compounds within Amanita Musaria, namely Muscimol, has been identified as having analgesic properties because of its ability to activate gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors. Read here for more info from the National Library of Medicines.
To date I have not been able to track down ANY peer reviewed scientific papers which lay any claims to the "topical" use of Amanita for pian relief, although there are a great many which support its use when taken internaly.
**An important note here is that Amanita Muscaria, in ANY form, is forbidden for internal consumption within the framework of UK law and as such we are NOT advocating its use internally in any format or methodology" To do so would be illegal and irresponsible!! So don't do it!!
With all of the above having been said, there is a long held cultural tradition within the Nordic nations of an ointment, rub, cream or tincture that has been applied topically to the affected area/muscle and its proported ability to relieve pain. I have also read a number of anecdotal accounts where people have claimed that Amanita has been instrumental in ameliorating neurological pain such as Fibromyalgia and Sciatica.
Remember to ALWAYS consult a GP before using this or any mushroom tincture and NEVER consume this particular internally orally/internally!!
